Thankfully , maybe the new generation of JW's will shake the " truth " off themselves easier than our generation did ! Many , actually the majority of young JW in my area are of the "don't care thought " even the active ones .They still do what they want.

New Generation of JW's?
by zeroday ini da'd myself two years and yet i have 3 jw cousins that continue to communicate with me.
either thru email or face to face.
when i ask them if they know the consequences of their actions they just reply "i don't care".

Why don't Dub families have pets?

at mt ex-congo, i only knew of two families with pets, dogs/cats.

Most of the JW's I know have pets .We live in a rural area lots of room for dogs to run so it's common .

I caught a piggy while out in service. It got loose and I was afraid it would get run over so I saved him .(Then I took him home and made BLT's hmmmmmm) Nah ,I took him back to the farmer , and then we had to quit service cause I got piggy smell on me.

My family has always had pets usually more than one. In fact right now my dog is next to me helping me eat a banana .He is so weird if he hears you peeling a banana he'll come running from any where in the house to get some. No kidding though when I was little my best friend couldn't have a pet when I asked why ? She told me her mom said it was because Armageddon was coming soon, and if times got bad they might have to eat the dog, so it was better not to have one so as not to be traumatized !!!! Great parenting skills to avoid trauma.

Governing body and food at the proper time
by snarf ini had a sister call on me the other day and asked if i wanted to attend the book study with her.
i asked her how the governing body knew which topics to post in the magazines and what subjects the elders need to talk about for public talks.
she never answered my question, but assured me it was covered in the chapter they were studying in the daniel book.

I was always told that the FDS contributed information and that the GB prayed over what was to be sent to writing commitee ? Do I have it wrong ? How can I substantiate that the GB don't consult FDS for material ? It would really help me when reasoning with my husband .

by What-A-Coincidence into the ones who still must go for family sakes .... what feelings/thoughts go through you at the meetings???.

"damm, i wish my folks would have not been suckered in, i could be doing something purposeful.".

While visiting my son over the weekend I attended my first meeting in three months. I caught myself making snide remarks under my breath and at one point during the Watchtower study I started shaking my head "no" .My son just gave me a funny look ,and I smiled back. I did like singing the song and talking sports with a dim bulb afterwards
